Thing 1-Playing with PowerPoint

The shortcut lesson for Windows and PowerPoint has been a great learning tool. As you can see in my crude attempts to master Jing, I have the opening picture of my PowerPoint presentation of an author celebration on Wendelin VanDraanen.  Next you have my lovely, blacked out version. I have not had success with minimizing and returning the view, so will seek further help with that.  I was very happy to download the Windows Shortcut pages.  I know that the more I use them the more I will like them.  In just practicing the little bit that I have, I am already seeing the benefit of having this information.  It's like getting a new toy.
I really loved the Windows Shortcuts most of all. Some of my favorites were Shift-Enter for when you want to add a line when using bullet points. It definitely saves time to use the F12 tab for saving documents or information as opposed to going to My Documents through the Start screen.  Experimenting with the cut and paste options (Control C,V,X, and the restorative Z)was fun to do as well and worked very quickly.  My favorite of all of the Windows Shortcuts, however, has to the the Underline plus Tab.  If you knew how many frustrating moments I have had trying to create documents that need fill-in-the-blanks or lines for longer answers, you would understand.  The fill-in-the-blanks wasn't a big deal, but creating multiple lines for students to write their answers on was a pain.  I will use this shortcut with joy and would not be in the least bit surprised if I have an unconscious  smile whenever I do.
These shortcuts will easily effect productivity because they remove the most frustrating parts.  I look forward to having a classroom of my own again where I can use these often and well.
